Shifting light conditions make the peaks appear different time and again. When the morning sun rises over the mountains, the early morning hours become a unique experience. Book your spot today at over 3,000 meters above sea level and start your summer day high above the Engadin. Whether you’re hiking or biking—the Piz Nair Sunrise offers the chance to experience the mountain even before it officially opens, and then dive right into your day of hiking or biking.

Due to the Major Overhauls of the Chantarella and Corviglia Funiculars There will be no Piz Nair Sunrise event in the summer of 2026.
You can experience the Piz Nair sunrise even in winter experience.
Price
You'll receive the day pass—which is included in the price—first thing in the morning at the valley station in St. Moritz Dorf.
Annual subscriptions, as well as multi-day passes and Mountain railways included & all-inclusive are not valid for the event.

Advance registration for the event through the Experience Shop is required.

Procedure
The meeting point for all participants in the Piz Nair Sunrise is at the valley station of the funicular in St. Moritz Dorf. Before the official operating hours begin and even before dawn, participants will then take the funicular together to the summit of Piz Nair. The early ride and the arrival at an altitude of over 3,000 meters above sea level are what give this morning its special charm. Upon arrival, guests are greeted with a generous breakfast buffet. This is available to participants during sunrise and afterward until the official end of the event at 9:00 a.m. This allows time to enjoy the tranquility and special atmosphere on the mountain before regular summer operations begin. Of course, you’re also welcome to explore the trails and hiking paths starting from Piz Nair on foot or by bike even before the official end of the event. Please note, however, that there will be no extra ascent back to Piz Nair before the official start of operations (8:45 a.m.). The first official descent of the Piz Nair cable car is at 9:05 a.m. For anyone who doesn’t want to wait until the official end of the event at 9:00 a.m., a special shuttle service from Piz Nair to Corviglia will be available as early as 8:10 a.m.
Important Information
In the event that the event is canceled on short notice due to external factors or an insufficient number of registrations, the amount paid for the Piz Nair Sunrise event will be refunded. However, Engadin St. Moritz Mountains AG will not cover any additional costs (e.g., lodging, etc.) incurred by the participant as a result of the cancellation of the Piz Nair Sunrise event.
